Smoke 'n' Barrel is the product of chefs Chris Geary and Cory Blackburn. The pair met in January 2O17 while working in a café in the Christchurch CBD and began discussing their mutual passion for traditional cooking and 'slow food'. Chris built his first barrel smoker from a hot water cylinder and became a regular fixture at markets, festivals and events around Canterbury.

Originally conceived as a way to make selling our locally produced honey at markets more convenient, fate had other plans for us. When Sarah jokingly suggested honey-topped ice cream, we couldn't ignore the sweet idea. The rest, as they say, is delicious history.
