Our journey started in 2005 with a singular vision to produce the best wines in Marlborough. Named after the majestic Catalina flying boats and the iconic Marlborough Sounds at our doorstep, Catalina Sounds produces wines that are true to the region and our vineyard sites while building an extra textural dimension –wines that are uniquely Catalina Sounds.

The Cloudy Bay story began in 1985 with the first vintage of its distinctive, captivating and vibrant Sauvignon Blanc. The estate continues its drive for excellence in the Marlborough region. Founded with an adventurous spirit and unwavering commitment to quality, Cloudy Bay pursues perfection with every bottle, capturing and revealing the natural beauty of each region with every sip.

Nestled in the foothills of the Wairau Valley, carved by powerful glacial and tectonic forces, the Clos Henri Estate sits upon some of the Marlborough’s most fascinating soils. Headed by members of the famous winegrowing family of Henri Bourgeois, from Sancerre, France, the Estate has been meticulously cared for since its establishment in 2000.

Esses Estate is a premium grower-producer creating sophisticated, late-disgorged sparkling through traditional French methods. Each vintage showcases the essence of the season and the estate on which it is grown. Esses is a family owned and operated estate, with 20-year-old vines, with current releases being produced off a mere 1.5 hectares.

Eva Pemper’s winemaking style is very simple, try to make approachable wines that are easy to drink and can be enjoyed on any occasion, while at the same time they are delicious, fresh and elegant.

Four Hawk Day wines are produced on our vineyard situated on the banks of the Omaka River, in the charming Cowslip Valley. This distinctive little valley creates a unique microclimate within the Waihopai Valley grape-growing area. We have recorded temperatures ranging from minus 14 to plus 42 degrees here, we took both days off!

In 1855 Adam Jackson bought his first blocks of land in the heart of the Marlborough region, along with what was to become known as Jacksons road. The infamous gum tree known as the ‘Grey ghost’ was planted shortly after in 1867 on the land now known as our Homestead vineyard.
